If you’re a believer in winning streaks and dry spells, which we’ve all encountered when playing roulette and other casino games, the Paroli or ‘Reverse Martingale’ is likely to appeal to you.
When using the Paroli system in roulette, the idea is to do the exact opposite of what you do when using the Martingale – increase your bets when you win and lower them when you start losing. This way, you take advantage of win streaks when they occur and reduce your risk when lady luck decides to dance with someone else for a while.
Here’s an example of the Paroli roulette strategy at work:

To use the Paroli system to win roulette, you’ll need to get out after a few wins in a row. Yes, it can cause your bankroll to grow quickly, but it relies on the winning streak lasting, and all experienced players know only too well that lady luck leaves just as fast as she arrives.

The James Bond roulette strategy is among the riskiest of those listed here, but its creator, Ian Fleming, claims that it is “foolproof”. We’ll be putting that claim to the test today.
To use the James Bond strategy, you need to place multiple bets worth £200 on a single spin. The idea is that you cover most of the possibilities, and you come out in profit no matter what happens. Of course, there’s always the possibility that the improbable happens and you wipe out.
Bet £140 on the high numbers from 19 to 36, risk £50 on numbers 13 to 18, and stick £10 on the zero for insurance. Note that this is based on a European roulette wheel, where there is only one zero to consider.
You have most of your bases covered here, but keep in mind that if numbers 1-12 come up, you’ll lose the lot. But what happens if you win?
If numbers 19 to 36 come up you’ll win £80.
If 13-18 show up, you’ll be up £100.
If the zero shows, you’ll win £160.
So, does the James Bond strategy really work? Let’s put it to the test.The D’Alambert Roulette Strategy
The D’Alambert strategy is considered one of the safe roulette strategies. It involves way less risk than some of the others you see here, but as a result, the potential payouts are lower, too.
When using the D’Alambert roulette system, you increase or decrease bets by one unit, rather than doubling them like you would when using the Martingale or Paroli systems.
For example, start by placing a £1 bet on odds or evens. If you lose, increase your bet size by £1. If you lose again, increase it by another £1, for a £3 bet, and so on. This is far less risky than the Martingale and Paroli systems, but when you run the numbers, you’ll see that the potential payouts won’t cover what you’ve previously lost like the others. In this example, let’s say we win on the fourth bet with a total bet size of £4. We’ll win £4, get back our £4 stake, but we’ll have lost £6 in the runup to the bet. Therefore, we won’t have won.
Once you win, you’ll need to start decreasing your bets by £1, taking risk off the table in the knowledge that any win streak can only last so long. Of course, this also reduces the potential profits you can make when win streaks do come along.

Some winning roulette strategies attempt to conjure up mystique and intrigue by using the names of famous mathematicians, and this is a good example of that. Fibonacci was an Italian mathematician who came up with the now-infamous Fibonacci sequence in which the next number of the sequence is the sum total of the previous two.
The idea behind the Fibonacci roulette strategy is to follow the number system until you get a win, then move back two numbers and continue. You also always place bets on even money bets like Red/Black or Odds/Evens.

The chances are if you play only a few spins, you will profit. But if you continue to play, you will eventually encounter the streak from hell that wipes out your bankroll, including previous winnings.
Most roulette system progressions are not quite as dramatic. But they still usually revolve around the same principle of increasing bets to cover losses. The important thing to keep in mind is each spin is independent. What happened previously on the roulette wheel has no bearing on future spins. The only exception is if there are tangible physical variables that affect the winning number. One example is roulette wheel bias, where there is a physical defect on the wheel causing some numbers to win more frequently.
Roulette wheel bias is very different to hot numbers. Hot numbers are ones that have won more frequently than others in recent spins. They are inevitable and part of normal statistics. A hot number may continue to be hot, or it may turn cold. Which is more likely? Each case is just as likely as the other. Generally the results only begin to become relevant after about ten thousand spins. This is ten thousand spins you actually bet on, excluding any spins you skip due to “triggers” (like waiting for 10 reds before betting black). So only spins you bet on count.
Furthermore, a positive result over ten thousand spins is still not particularly statistically relevant. So is there a particular amount of spins that is relevant? How long is a piece of string? I really hate that answer, but it makes a point, which is this:
The more spins you play, the closer your results resemble what happens in the long-term. You can win with random bets over one hundred thousand spins. Most the time, you would lose. But sometimes, you will have profited.
Putting this into context, say there were one thousand players, who each bet on one hundred thousand different spins. 99% of them will lose. But 1% will win. The 99% of players feel their system lost, and that they need to move on. But the 1% are fully convinced that their system works. If this 1% played a further one hundred thousand spins, the chances are they will lose. And they may be convinced that the casino somehow cheated.
To be accurate, the chances are fewer than 1% of players will profit (if the system was no better than random bets). But I’m just using the above values as an example.Testing at Online Casinos

Removed the old deck and found the Steel roof was in good shape but coating applied 10 years ago was starting to fail. Cleaned the roof down to the metal and removed any loose previously applied coating then applied three coats. Used the 6’ reinforcing mesh on all the seams and where the deck sleepers were being installed. Install was quick and easy.

My truck camper roof had no leaks, and I wanted it to stay that way. Two coats later you would swear the roof is brand new. The advice to mix this with a power paddle is spot on.
Had a couple questions answered promptly by customer service people that were great. If Gaco Roof holds up as well as it looks, I’ll be one very happy camper. Highly recommended.

Conditions: A mix of gray clouds and blue skies causing shadows, warmer temps, and snow that ranged from icy and firm to soft and slushy.
Flex: Somewhere between jib noodle and middle of the road. What you get is a playful board that has a little snap to it. The tips have a big sweet spot from right before the carbon rod out to the end, there’s some play from between the bindings, and between the feet torsionally there’s a ton of play. Stability: It’s stable to a point and depending on the terrain. I.E. In the park or a perfectly groomed run, anything else and you’re going to feel the snow and get bucked around. The good thing is the flex pattern absorbs transitions and contours with ease.
Ollies: Due to having the flat camber profile and the carbon rod in the tips this board has some snap. It’s so easy to pop without having to load the board up. It’s very skate styled in that regards and makes the mountain into a mini skate park.
Pop On Jumps: There’s enough pop for small to medium jumps. Without having to have the need to aggressively load up to pop a jump it does turn lips into launch ramps.
Butterability: Here’s where this board shines. It has that flex you can press into without fighting back on you. Which is nice if you want to really spin around on your tips or press into them. Basically if you’re looking to butter and not have a board fight you, look no further.
Jibbing: Press it, slide it, bonk it. This deck has you covered. The sweet spot is great for nose and tail presses in the tips and with that carbon rod you get the snap out you want while not being forced to have to pop out. The softer flex between the feet helps the board cradle itself on slides.
Carving: There’s limitations with its carving and that’s to be expected on a board like this. You can’t just dig in hard and expect to lay out a full Euro-carve, it’s not going to happen. What I did find though was that it initiates turns with ease due to the camber profile, by this I mean it rolls up on edge and transitions over without having to be loaded. Stick to quick set up turns or long drawn out carves and you’ll be fine.
Rider in Mind: The guy that wants to use the mountain as a skatepark.

Personal Thoughts: This board reminded me of riding the old Rome Shank or Boneless. It’s playful yet has snap and makes you feel like you’re riding a skateboard on the mountain. You don’t have to stay on point to do what you want and the board will do what you make it. There’s snap, play, and general fun to be had on this deck. It’s more than a jib board but not quite a middle of the road park deck.

Organized crime was on a steady rise in the following years as a result of immigration triggered by the arrival of the British since 1946.[2] The mass immigration played a crucial role in the economic development during the colonial era by availing large population for labors. However, the rapid growth in the ethnic Chinese population came with cost as secret societies were formed. Immigrants formed their own “community” based on the notion of brotherhood generally known as Hui, which loosely translates into a vast family or company. When joining Hui, one had to cut their fingers with a knife, and the blood that dripped down would be added into rice wine, then it would be drunk as a sign of brotherhood.[1]Is Gambling Legal In SingaporeEarly 19th century[edit]
The formation of this secret society (Hui) played an important role to the immigrants from China during the early 19th century. This group was particularly helpful to these Chinese immigrants during their encounters with colonial government officials who were ignorant of the Chinese language and culture. They would take advantage of these situations to lure the Chinese into joining ’Hui’. They offered a source of livelihood to the immigrants, offered protection and most imperatively presided over activities that united them and gave them a sense of belonging and spiritual fulfillment.[1] The Hui were involved in a sourcing of unskilled native labourers as well as other profit making ventures such as pepper and gambier farming.[3]
At the beginning of the 19th century Hui adopted a clarion call of mutual assistance, bonding and brotherhood[3] and the colonial government’s attitude towards the secret society is ambiguous due to political independence and the inability of the colony’s administration. However, by mid 19th century their activities had deteriorated sharply creating impressions of disorder and violence.Mid-19th century[edit]
Organized crime groups were posing huge problems to the routine and security of people, which forced the British authorities to curb the growing problem. These secret societies intensified their criminal activities from 1850s steadily evolving into organized crimes. They started with simple acts of crime extortion, trafficking and opium dealings before expanding to bigger criminal ventures like running illegal gambling dens and brothels. Organized crime groups started to scuffle with other gangs in order to take over their “turf” and threatened other citizens to pay protection money in return for their so-called ‘protection’. The most ferocious organized crime group was GheeHinKongsi; estimated to have 800 members, this group was largely made of the Cantonese.[1] Other secret societies involved in crime include the Hai San, a gang that rivalled the Ghee Hin group in competition for land houses and business opportunities. Major legislative development in the colonial government led to the suppression of secret societies as law enforcement authorities thwarted the activities of organized crime.Modern trends[edit]
In Singapore just like any other country in the world, organized crime is considered a criminal act and includes running unlicensed money lending facilities and operating illegal gambling dens among other crimes. Given the severe penalty attached to them, Singapore records an average low crime rate compared to the rest of the world. However, some smaller groups have come together to form some secret groups that takes after the past secret groups like ’Hui’. These groups membership is primarily adolescent teenagers.[4] Singapore has registered an increase in gang related activities in the recent past with drug trafficking being the major organized crime in the recent times owing to its immense profits. Since 1970s these groups have emerged at different times running various illegal activities and engaging in violent activities in the pursuit of their interests which includes unlicensed money lending and drug trafficking. Salakau gang is also another recent example of organized crime. This group drew its members from the Indians and Malays and made huge amounts of money through engaging in extortion and prostitution. Gang rivalry and conflicts between different gangs is a common phenomenon. Even in the present days, there is still a growing number of rebellious youths who subscribe to the ideologies of gang stars thinking being in a gang makes people look cool.[5] A typical example can be traced back to 1990 where some teenagers in “pseudo street gangs” were obsessed with Salaku believing that such an affiliation was cool. These teenagers would be heard chanting the Salakau slogans in their squabbles without being its group members.
Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) is still considered a primary target for organized cyber criminals in Singapore. This infrastructure includes the Banking and Finance industry which is likely to suffer major losses which may affect the country’s economy [6] .An insurance company suffered major losses in 2017 when a group of hackers attacked the company’s website leaking personal information for more than 5000 customers.Organized cyber-crime[edit]
Organized cyber-crime in Singapore has been a threat to both private and public sector including government’s security agencies. The cyber-attack on the Ministry of Defense in February 2017 was an example of case where a government agency became a target for cyber criminals.[7] Personal details of military personnel were leaked during the attack carried out by hackers. The attack was thwarted before the hackers could access classified military information. Private businesses have also registered losses as a result of cyber-attacks such as the Wannacry Ransomware in 2017 which compelled victims to send a ransom of particular amount to the criminals [8]
Secret societies have been using online markets to sell illicit items such as drugs and weapons. This sale is always conducted on the dark web, a collection of encrypted websites that cannot be tracked easily by authorities. According to Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association, youths have turned to online markets for drugs such as marijuana. The transactions are carried online through escrow which allows for the payment of contraband.[9] Organized criminal societies have been involved in illicit money lending services on online platforms. These loans are always offered on high rates taking advantage of the victims’ desperation. Since obtaining banks loans is time-consuming and demanding, criminals have resorted to offering loans on the dark web[10]Decline of organized crime[edit]
Since 1890, Singapore has witnessed declining rates of organised crime through the years. This has been made possible by the enactment of strict laws and legislation such as the ‘Societies Ordinance Act’ that spelled severe penalties for the offenders. However, there is no denying that organised gangs still exist and it may not be possible to fully wipe them out.[11] The significant decline in gang related activities is attributable to the reforms that have taken place within the law enforcement agencies. The police force has a branch called the Secret Society Branch (SSB) which is mandated primarily to suppress these gangs and destroy them. Among the strategies they employ in dealing with these gangs include surprise raids on their dens deterring any potential offenders.[11] The Singaporean Criminal law dictates that any person found guilty of a criminal offence involving unlawful society is liable to five years of imprisonment and five strokes of cane. In the event that the crime involves a person with authority or a leader within the group then the penalty could be doubled or even tripled. Additionally, certain offences such as drug trafficking are considered capital offences and could lead to death penalty under the penal code. Young offenders below the age of 21 years who join criminal gangs would be liable to life imprisonment while gang robberies would also attract five years behind bars under the code. Accordingly, strict legislation has been the biggest deterrence of criminal gangs effectively and efficiently reducing crime in the country.Organized Crime Act 2015[edit]
The parliament of Singapore is credited for enacting legislation addressing organized crime in the country. The Organised Crime Act 2015 is one of the recent statutes that was designed to help reduce criminal activities by organized gangs. It took full effect in June 2016 having been passed by the parliament in 2015. The law grants power to law enforcement authorities to detect and prevent criminal activities with minimal interference. Under this law, the public prosecutor is allowed to confiscate assets obtained from criminal activities before sentencing following an application from the High court.[11] This move helps in the investigation of suspected criminals, as they are denied the financial freedom that would jeopardize investigations. Suspected criminals planning to flee overseas using material gains from criminal activities may be apprehended by law enforcement authorities. However, it was worth noting that the public prosecutor has the responsibility to prove that a suspect was involved in criminal activities before being granted permission for civil confiscation.Three preventive orders[edit]
The Organised Crime Act 2015 also provides for statutory laws that contain preventive orders. These are orders used by the public prosecutor to prevent the likelihood of a suspect engaging in future criminal activities. There are three orders that fall within the preventive orders provided in the act namely disqualification order, financial reporting order and the Organized crime prevention order.[12] The disqualification order restricts suspects from getting involved in the management of companies. If suspects are found guilty, they are automatically disqualified by the court from acting as directors for companies. This order is drawn from the fact that one may use the corporate form as a shield while engaging in criminal activities in the background. The privileges emanating from the limited liability feature of a company may pose a challenge in the investigation of a suspect.[13] Financial reporting order is issued on suspects demanding them to submit their financial reports to relevant authorities. Such orders are issued on individuals serving their sentence and may be extended even after the jail term. The public prosecutor is also legally permitted to demand these reports from suspects who have not been found guilty by the courts. This law prevents the sentenced members of secret societies from funding criminal activities while serving their sentence. Organized crime prevention order grants permission to law enforcement authorities to monitor the activities of suspects including those not found guilty. It has helped reduce organized crime by monitoring the activities of former criminals as well as persons of interest.[14]Opposition from human rights advocate[edit]
Even though arguments have been made against these laws, Singapore has recorded a sharp decline in the rate of organized crime since 2016. Human rights advocates argue that these laws infringe on the rights of citizens by suppressing their freedom of expression and assembly. The preventive detention permitted by the Criminal Law Act has always been a subject of debate. JetBlue Airways(NASDAQ: JBLU) is firmly in the latter camp. While the company has deferred some aircraft orders, it still plans to take delivery of its first Airbus A321LR next year, allowing it to launch its long-awaited service to London. Earlier this week, one of the last puzzle pieces fell into place, as the airline was granted slots allowing it to operate up to three daily roundtrips to London starting in the summer 2021 season.JetBlue secures slots
Several of London’s major airports are typically overcrowded. As a result, airlines must apply for takeoff and landing slots if they want to fly to London. Heathrow Airport, the region’s primary airport, is the most extreme case. The cost of a single slot-pair, allowing one roundtrip flight, has averaged tens of millions of dollars when traded on the private market. Gatwick Airport has also been operating near capacity in recent years.
Airlines have dramatically reduced slot utilization because of the pandemic. Normally, they would have to give up their unused slots, but the standard use-it-or-lose-it rules have been suspended in the U.K. until at least next spring. Thus, JetBlue had to go through a competitive slot-allocation process to get the slots it needs for its planned London flights.
Earlier this week, reports from Airport Coordination Limited -- the company that manages slot allocations for the London airports -- showed that JetBlue has received slots for up to three daily roundtrips to London. However, they are spread across two airports.
At Gatwick Airport, JetBlue received 14 weekly slots -- half of what it had requested. That’s enough to operate one daily roundtrip, which it will use to fly to New York’s JFK Airport. JetBlue also landed all 28 weekly slots it requested at London Stansted Airport, which it will use for up to two daily roundtrips to Boston.The big prize remains elusive

The bigger disappointment was that JetBlue wasn’t able to get slots at Heathrow, the preferred airport for most business travelers. JetBlue’s planned London flights would almost certainly be more successful at Heathrow than at any other airport.
That wasn’t exactly a surprise, though. (Heathrow only awarded four new weekly slots, good for two weekly roundtrips. Airlines had requested 1,394 weekly slots!) JetBlue’s management thinks the pandemic could ultimately make it easier to pick up slots at Heathrow, but slot holders have no incentive to give up slots until the use-it-or-lose-it rules are reinstated. Remedy slots designed to ensure adequate competition could provide another avenue for JetBlue to gain access to Heathrow, but probably not until at least 2022.Hotels Near Heathrow London AirportThis can work -- for nowLondon Heathrow Airport Code
Gatwick Airport is a well-established alternative to Heathrow and has sustained plenty of flights from the U.S. over the years. However, many pundits are concerned that JetBlue’s planned Boston-London flights via Stansted Airport are doomed to fail. Previous attempts to offer transatlantic service from Stansted haven’t been commercially successful.
In reality, JetBlue’s prospects aren’t that bleak. JetBlue mainly caters to leisure travelers -- even for its premium lie-flat ’Mint’ service. Leisure travelers tend to be more flexible about which airports they use (particularly if they’re getting a good deal). Furthermore, Stansted is the closest major airport to Cambridge, a key U.K. tech hub. Boston is also a major base for technology companies, so JetBlue could potentially develop a lucrative niche carrying tech-related business traffic between Boston and Stansted.
Additionally, Gatwick is a major base for Norwegian Air, which was struggling before the pandemic and is now on the verge of collapse. Even if Norwegian does survive, JetBlue will probably be able to pick up additional Gatwick slots in 2022 if it decides Stansted isn’t working. Beyond that, there’s a chance that regulators will force other airlines to make room for JetBlue at Heathrow in the next few years to preserve competition in that key market.
For now, JetBlue just needs a foothold so it can offer access to London to its customers and start to build name recognition in the U.K. The slots it has secured at Gatwick and Stansted will allow it to do just that.
